SNAP Recap 2015
Hey, long time no see!
I wanted to share a quick recap of my experience at SNAP this year, for those of you who don’t blog, SNAP is a blogging conference, where bloggers go to learn awesome stuff (about blogging) and connect with brands and other bloggers. I can honestly say that I was a little overwhelmed, but not as bad as last year!! Baby steps…
I was lucky to get on the Thrift Store tour the first day, because you all know I love thrifty things! We stopped at George’s Architectural Salvage, and Euro Treasures. It was fun looking at “junk” and cool furniture, but I loved connecting with the other bloggers. I got to meet my friend Jen Woodhouse from The House of Wood! She is amazing and so sweet! Oh, and I finally got to meet Mandi from Vintage Revivals, real quick like. 🙂
Oh yeah, chairs? Anyone?
Amy from HerToolbelt taught an awesome class on how to tile sponsored by Ryobi tools. I also got to try my hand at backsplash, it was fun! I think I am ready to try this on my own, especially because I won a cool tile scraper kit thingy… whoop!
Simpson Strong Tie sponsored a class taught by Jen Woodhouse on how to build a craft table, using their awesome metal connectors. It was a lot of fun! I also finally got to meet my friends at Gorilla Glue! You guys know I love Gorilla products! 🙂
The sponsor booths are always so amazing and have some great hands on projects! I wish my kids could have been there, they would have had a blast! Joann had the most beautiful wall out of reclaimed wood. Heaven! I am pretty sure I need one in my house. I am glad Elisha from Pneumatic Addict and I snapped a shot at the Minwax booth!
Apparently I need to be better at taking more photos, that is all I have! It was so amazing for me to get to hang and connect with some pretty awesome DIY bloggers (Pictured above- Amy-Her Tool Belt, Jen-The House of Wood, me, Elisha- Pneumatic Addict, and Jenn- Build-Basic) I love all these girls, they inspire me! If you don’t know them you should go meet them! I also met so many other awesome bloggers, too many to name, but I loved connecting with them!
I enjoyed all the great classes and speakers. I didn’t quite stick to my new mantra of “be bold” and show my best face for the brands. My shy side seemed to take over and I needed to have more confidence… I guess it is good to have something to work on. Right? (lol, I have a TON to work on!)
I am hoping to start doing videos for you soon, so you may be seeing me a little more of the real me! I am excited about that. I hope I can take the things I have learned and become better for you! If I can ever find time I also want to learn how to use google sketch up and start sharing plans with you as well. Don’t hold your breath though, you know how insane my life is. I STILL have a half built bed in my kitchen!
This week has been focused a little more on just being mom, because after all that is what I am first and foremost. This photo shows you a little of what I have been doing…and it has been so much FUN, I love my family. 🙂
I am ready to get back to work on my master bedroom! I can’t wait to get it finished! See you soon!
Hugs!
Hugs to you buddy!!! I think it's awesome you were able to attend this conference!!! Looked and sounded like so much fun! And yay for kid and family time!!! Nicole xoxo
I am more than a little heartbroken that I didn't get to see you in person when you were in SL. I live 30-ish minutes away from where this little shindig was, and so it feels almost criminal. So sad. My loss. You're one of my favorite creator of creative things. 🙂
I love seeing all of those pics, of the conference and the kiddos! I do NOT know how you do all that you do. I can't wait to meet you in Atlanta this summer!
I'm glad you were able to go to SNAP.

How awesome that you got to meet all that bunch of creativity that are just like you! I haven't attended a single conference, in part because as you said, the shy side of me would take over too! :/ Got to work on that! Love your kids pictures, they're growing fast!
It must be much easier to combat the shy side if you go there with a blogging friend.
So many opportunities and fun times, thank you for giving us an inside scoop of SNAP.
Mindi, I'm so glad you were able to attend SNAP again! Yay! I can be very introverted (in a group of people), that I am not sure how I would do. I love all the pictures of SNAP and your family. AND, I would definitely watch your DIY videos. 🙂
