Tapered Crate

Hello Friends!  I have a super cute project to share today, and it really makes me smile because it took less than 30 minutes start to finish!

You see Ana White posted a plan for this simple tapered crate/planter the other day and I knew I just had to make one.

A while back I grabbed this old fence board (picture on the left) out of the trash at my kids elementary school playground.  I did get a few “looks” but hey, it was worth it!  I mean this was NOT trash, couldn’t they tell?

I didn’t do a full tutorial because Ana did a great video tutorial on her blog.  You can get the plans and see the video here.  (did I mention that I love Ana White?…. well I do….)

My favorite part is the beautiful natural whitewashing on the wood…seriously it makes me giddy.  In fact I was all excited just cutting the wood, I know I am weird.

I love how such a simple project can make me so happy!

It was warped a little and so the build isn’t perfect….but I think it adds character.

It would look so pretty with flowers in it…but for now,

It has a home in the bathroom.  I even think it looks cute holding towels and wash cloths.  (did I mention I have an obsession with crates?….well I do….)

Do you have an obsession with anything?

So happy you stopped by!  I have been working on a project for the last couple of weeks, and I am SO DANG EXCITED to share it with you on Monday!  Hope to see you then!

Mindi

I will be linking to these parties.

  3. hmm…obsession…besides chevron?…I think maybe ironstone. I buy iron stone dishes, or little saucers or whatever any time I see some at the thrift store.

I love the crate. Would it take ME less than 30 min to make? Oh..and I couldn't tell you loved Anna White, but now that you mention it…I think I can see it…lol (totally joking)
