Oh boy, has this been a LONG time coming.
Like two years long…
…so I thought I would show you my Master Bedroom Reveal!! Eeeek!
Isn’t it so pretty!!? I love it, and let me just say it didn’t take me two years, I just haven’t taken the time to share it with you, cause I am the ultimate slacker. But every project in this room is DIY and so there is a lot to share. I guess I have slowly been adding things…for two years.
Let’s start with some true before shots. Brace yourself!
This is the room before. It took me WAAAAYYYY to long to paint these walls. This is how they were when we moved in.
Obviously I hadn’t done anything to decorate the room either.
Look, even the curtains are askew. Nice.
Basically it was like a cave… and definitely time for a change!
This is a shot of the room a few weeks ago, and I decided that I needed to spruce it up a little more, you know add those finishing touches…
Here is one last shot before I changed it up a bit for a reveal shoot. Truth be told, I moved out several projects that I am going to sell before I took this shot…this room has been a bit of a storage area lately! #bloggerproblems It was so refreshing to move them to the kitchen out so I can have a clean room again!
This is what it looks like now!! Yay!! Did you notice the small touches? Let me point them out!
I also built the
Floating Night Stands which were the perfect complement to the storage bed, I don’t have to move a night stand to pull the drawers out! Plus I am in love with X patterned furniture.
And I love my
DIY Plug-in Sconces too! For my finishing touches I added this boxwood wreath, I have been wanting one for, FOREVER, seriously. It makes me smile seeing it above my bed. 🙂 And then these cool pillows from
Shutterfly!
They are so fun, and really bring that splash of color that I needed.
Plus you can order them reversible and they have zippers so you can wash them! I think I found my new go to place for custom pillows, I loved that I can put my kids pictures on them and make them anyway I wanted.
Moving around the room we come to the window!! Awe. This is a project I haven’t shared on my blog yet, but I need to! I adore how it turned out!
I have shared my
hanging hexagon planter...and I am so proud of myself that I haven’t
totally killed the plant yet. We have had a few close calls, but luckily it is still hanging on, it is definitely not as robust as it used to be.
Part of the reason I haven’t shared the window trim and planking is because of how hard it is to photograph. I also made the roman shades and need to share those….see, bad blogger!
I will be sharing my terrariums soon…
…and my antique crate. 🙂
For this space I really want a nice comfy chair that would be good for sitting and reading, but for now I stole my
Modern Bench from the entryway. I love the Shutterfly Pillow and
Fleece Photo Blanket…
So do my kids!! I love the picture quality and it is fun to snuggle up with the kids under such a special blanket.
You may have noticed that there wasn’t a dresser, we haven’t needed one since I did my
Master Closet Makeover Reveal! You HAVE to check it out, it is the best ever! Plus this bed. It is LOADED with storage!
I also got a new bedspread with a christmas gift card! 🙂
And now after writing this long post I want to crawl into bed and take a nap! Ha ha!
I hope you enjoyed my Master Bedroom Reveal! It has come a long way, and I am sure will continue to evolve! 😉
Look for the missing tutorials coming soon! And I hope you check out all the fun projects from this room!
Hugs,
Mindi
I will be linking to these parties, Savvy Southern Style.
Wow, you really did a lot of work in that room – it looks great!
P. S. I didn't know you had a ridgeback (I think she is)
Beautiful job Mindi! It's fun to see all of your projects and where they go, you are so talented.
Oh wow! So pretty!!!! Our master bedroom is soooo forgotten. I need to update and these are lovely ideas!!!
So glad you included the before pictures, it makes the new look that much more spectacular! Thanks for sharing. #HomeMattersParty
Wow, what a transformation! It really changed from blah to fab! We did a plank wall behind our bed during Christmas and New Years. I love it! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
hugs,
Jann
Wonderful! I love all the wood projects. They really warm up the gray/white space spectacularly. Perfection!

Wow, Mindi – where do I begin? Firstly, your window is stunning with the planking and the super deep sill with the plants … if there was such a thing as window porn yours would be at the top of the list. Then there's your bed – the bed is a show stopper! And the planked wall behind it is so beautiful (I never grow tired of white planking). I just love it all, I feel like you need a standing ovation because it's that good. xx
P.S. I'll be featuring your epic bedroom reveal this Wednesday at House of Hollingsworth Blog. xx
You are amazing! Love it!
I read your tutorial on planking your wall, in it you mentioned making your bed I was wondering if you shared a tutorial on that?
Hi Nicole, Yes I do have a post on my bed and a tutorial, it also gives you a link to the plans I used, you can find it here: http://mylove2create.com/2015/07/farmhouse-storage-bed.html
